Meet Matthew

Matthew is a Consultant Endocrinologist who is passionate about providing inclusive, patient-centred Endocrine care.

He holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science (2009) and a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (2013), both awarded with Academic Excellence.

He completed his Endocrinology advanced training in South East Queensland, followed by a two-year Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Dr Accatino also holds a Master of Medicine in Metabolic Health (2023) from the University of Sydney and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and an active member of several national and international professional societies, including the Endocrine Society of Australia, the US Endocrine Society, the Australian Diabetes Society, the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, AusPATH, and WPATH.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his husband, their young daughter, and their much-loved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

He has a keen interest in photography, home renovation, and staying active — and is always on the lookout for Brisbane’s best coffee. When time allows, he enjoys winding down with a good TV series, offering a welcome balance to the pace of clinical medicine.
